Etymology: From the Greek Hesperos (west) in reference to its geographical distribution.
Place of Origin: Southern Morocco.

A plant composed of small, thick, and upright stems, sometimes branched, with a pale green color that may vary depending on growing conditions. Despite having small pointed protuberances, its surface is soft and harmless. It produces small, dark, velvety flowers, characterized by a strong and unpleasant odor. It is a very easy-to-grow species with relatively fast growth, making it common in succulent collections.
