Etymology:
With reference to the province of Cádiz, where he/she is originally from.
Place of Origin:
Southern Iberian Peninsula, Macaronesia, and northern Morocco.
A rock-dwelling plant commonly found on walls, cliffs, and damp crevices throughout the western Mediterranean. It forms basal rosettes of fleshy, rounded leaves, often with a central depression resembling a navel. The flowering stems are slender and upright, bearing drooping inflorescences with small flowers. During dry months, it may reduce to a tuberous root hidden within rock crevices. It differs from its sister species *U. rupestris* in having more rounded contours and a less pronounced navel.
