Etymology:
From the lily family.
Place of Origin:
Present in all non-frozen areas of the Earth.
This is an important plant family, both because it is widespread across virtually all non-frozen regions of the planet and because it encompasses approximately 4,000 species. It exhibits the most diverse forms, of which only a small portion are bulbous or succulent.
