Mesembryanthemum nodiflorum
L. 1753

Etymology: From the Latin (nodus), knot, and (florum), flower, referring to the fact that the flowers emerge from the nodes of the stems.
Place of Origin: Southern Africa.

With high ground-covering ability, it consists of slender stems and small, globular leaves. Its creeping or trailing habit allows it to easily cover rocks and other objects. The vibrant flowering stands out against the green foliage. It is highly resistant to water scarcity and poor soil conditions, making it ideal for xerophytic gardens, rockeries, and pots with limited water resources.
