Etymology:
From Latin
longus (long)
folium (leaf) long leaves.
Place of Origin:
South Africa.
As with the rest of the genus, its most distinctive feature is the ability to trap sand on its leaves, which in this case are somewhat longer than in other species. It forms low clusters of rosettes and produces daisy-like flowers in pink tones. Highly adapted to extremely arid climates.
